It has been nearly 10 years since the last update. Can you believe it? Last time we were exploring Taiwan and some places in South Africa, sharing ideas and adventures, but then it all just came to a stop.

It all started when I completed my Bachelor of Art degree and then moving on to my PGCE (Post-Graduate Certificate of Education). Once I completed all of that, I began my employment as a teacher here in Taiwan. First, I started off as just an English, Math and Science teacher at a private elementary school. I was then promoted to grade leader and eventually ended up being the curriculum developer for the entire science department.

It was at this time that we decided to start a family and soon we were expecting, but then the world came to a halt. Just as my baby girl was born, COVID-19 struck and everything shut down. Schools went into full online mode, and we were raising a little one without a village to assist us and both parents struggling to adjust to online education.

Eventually things started to become “normal” again, but as we all know, the world never really returned back to normal after the whole lockdown situation.

Also, during this lockdown period (and directly after it was lifted), I also decided to start learning cybersecurity and eventually got certified as a Google Cybersecurity Professional and I also obtained my CC through the ISC2.

I then decided that it was also time for me to move on to a new school and try to expand my expertise. Currently I am the Head of Department for Science and Mathematics at my new school.

So that is my story at the moment. I am now a husband, a dad, a teacher, a cybersecurity professional and overall, just excited to share the journey that you all have missed over the past 10 years.
